Immune System Disorders

The body's immune system is the mechanism by which it fights illness, disease, malfunctions and invaders.

Although there are cases of Accutane-induced immune system diseases, Hoffmann-La Roche has not included a warning for "diseases of the immune system" in its labeling or Medication Guide. However, Accutane does appear to affect the body's immune system and contribute to autoimmune (where the body fights itself rather than disease) disorders as well.

Deficient immune systems are usually a result of one of a few situations: disease has weakened the system, drugs have suppressed or interfered with the natural functioning of the immune system, or there is an inherited or congenital dysfunction of the immune system.

Diseases of the Immune System include:

  • Crohn's Disease
  • Lupus
  • Vasculitis
  • Wegener's Granulomatosis (inflammation of the walls of the blood vessels, which affects the organs and the respiratory tract)
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Type 1 Diabetes
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Chronic Granulomatous Disease
  • Pneumonia caused by Pneumocystis Carinii.
  • Widespread herpes simplex infections
  • Fungal infections

If you or a loved one has suffered from immune system complications, inclusing Crohn's disease, from taking Accutane, please call or e-mail today and we will evaluate your Accutane claim for free.
